Buyer Beware: The differences Does matter

Many CAD Software vendors Proclaim to offer “flexible” CAD modeling or a “combination of direct and fea­ture-based modeling” ‒ but not Every version of this Modeling Methods are created equally.
When evaluating software vendors, make sure you fully understand how they are providing this Direct-Modeling capability and the Consequence of that Modeling Methodology.

The ”featurize” approach

As in the translate approach, the “featurize” Method also keeps the feature-based and direct modeling environments separate but records creation or Editing actions as a feature.
The main problem with this Method used in Solidworks is that numerous direct modeling changes can result in a Huge number of Added features.
Those features can Cause in greater interdependencies with Earlier generated Part features. A lack of careful Planning of feature interdependencies can result in 3D models that are failure-prone. The ”Translate” approach

One approach is to keep two Dedicated CAD Modeling environments, one for Traditional feature-based modeling and one for direct modeling, and translate any 3D Design geometry creation or Editing between them.
The Method seems logical at First Glance, but there are Serious Hidden problems.
3D Geometry in feature-based approaches Belongs into preset definitions for creation and Editing/modifications.
CAD Geometry in 3D direct modeling does not have any preset definition and can Enable dramatic Design modifications ‒ Editing that can even violate the Earlier definitions of the features used to originally Generate that Shape geometry.

At Present, these CAD Software vendors Such as SEACAD Technologies don’t have any great answers.
