CFD Simulation of Swing Check Valve:

Swing Check Valve is used in many process industries as one of the valves giving least pressure drop. In order to get a characteristic curve of the product, our CFD consulting client wanted to do CFD simulation of the valve. Steady state simulation was done by our CFD consultants to meet the objective.

CFD Simulation of Electrostatic Precipitator

Responsibility: In this computational fluid dynamics simulation Project the client wanted us as an engineering consulting firms to check whether the changes made to the inlet duct of the ESP are improving or diminishing the Pressure drop inside the whole ESP (battery limits starting from Air Preheater outlet to ID fan inlet ), and if not then was to be minimized and brought to the required value. Also, the flow inside ESP was to be made laminar to meet the ICAC norms required in a typical multiphysics modeling scenario.
Various flow modifiers were tested as part of the CFD analysis for the inlet and outlet duct which is a Multiphysics Simulation in nature. PDPLs were also modified and desired pressure drop and velocity distribution were obtained during the CFD Simulation. This was a huge and complex model of more than 100m in length.
Meshing for the fluid flow simulation was done using both gambit and Hypermesh. Mesh count was more than 10 million. Solving and post-processing of the FSI Analysis was done in CFX.

CFD Simulation of Electrostatic Precipitator

Responsibility: In this fluid dynamics simulation project the client wanted to meet the ICAC norms for ESP operation. The challenge here in this FSI Simulation was to make flow inside the ESP fully filled and uniform by only providing flow modifiers inside the ducts.
No PDPL modifications were allowed. CAD model was created by our team of engineering design consultants and approved by the client. The model was meshed using CFD Simulation Software Gambit. Pre and Post processing is done in CFX.

Study of Validation of the Porosity Model in CFX:

In this computational fluid dynamics analysis project, steady-state single-phase thermal simulation was done and pressure drop variation was studied for various actual GD screen models with different porosities and compared with the CFX simulation porosity model of the turbulent flow simulation.

Static Structural and Thermal Analysis of a Mild Steel Bolt Sliding on a Nylon 6 plate.

Displacement measurement of the computational fluid analysis was done by static structural analysis followed by thermal analysis for temperature variation study for a nylon 6 plate in contact with a moving mild steel bolt was done using Ansys Workbench.

CFD Analysis of Electrostatic Precipitator:

Created CAD model and CFD design setup in IDEAS referring AutoCAD drawings.
Completed Meshing of the CFD Flow Analysis in Gambit.
Pre-processing and post processing of the CFD Modeling was done in CFX.
Optimized the fluid flow within the ESP to meet ICAC norms adopted by most CFD Companies.

Water Hammer Effect Study by CFD

A 2d fluid structure interaction simulation for studying water hammer effect happening due to the sudden opening of a valve in a pipe, which requires a multiphase flow simulation.

CFD Simulation of Bag House filter:

Single Phase Steady state fluid dynamic analysis simulation in order to meet the industrial norms for the Bag House Filter was done.
