The objective was to design and simulate the spider on calculated load conditions.

The basic design was made on SolidWorks and then it was topologically optimized using SolidThinking Inspire under various constraints such as keeping the minimum FOS: 2, symmetry conditions and specifying pull out directions so that the machining is done at a lesser cost.
3. Outcome & Conclusion 
The obtained part was 400grams lighter than the original part and still had the same structural integrity.
